Volunteer Heart Ambulance Celebrates 35th Anniversary

On Saturday, Oct. 28, Volunteer Heart Ambulance Company will celebrate its 35th anniversary during a dinner celebration at the Richmond County Country Club.

The event will be from 6 to 11 p.m. Attending will be Councilman Andrew Lanza (R-South Shore), who will be honored during the event. For the past several years, Lanza has been an avid supporter of Volunteer Heart and will be celebrated for his contributions.

Also being honored is member Rev. Dr. John Gueli, who is retiring from the company after 25 years of volunteer service to the Staten Island community.  Gueli served as an emergency medical technician, senior member and pastor within the unit.

“The night is a time to look back on past contributions and celebrate those who have made Volunteer Heart a wonderful unit,” said Adam Ganzman, unit secretary. “It is also a night to look ahead to the future and the next 35 years of service to Staten Island.”

A reporter and photographer are requested at the event. Please contact Paul Cannavo, president of Volunteer Heart at 718-979-5850 or Adam Ganzman, secretary at 917-685-4068.
