Volunteer Heart Ambulance Celebrates New Ambulance
With the help of Councilman Andrew Lanza (R-North Shore) and the City Council, Volunteer Heart Ambulance has purchased a brand new 2006 ambulance.
The non-profit company would like to request the presence of a reporter and photographer on Sunday, Aug. 13 at noon in Siedenburg Park, Great Kills, for a re-dedication of the new ambulance. The company will also be honoring Councilman Lanza, who will be in attendance.
The ambulance that is being replaced was originally dedicated to fallen FDNY Firefighter Chris Siedenburg. Mr. Siedenburg was a longtime member of Volunteer Heart who died in the line of duty in 1994. The company would like to preserve his memory with the new ambulance.
“We want to thank Councilman Lanza for all his efforts in helping us secure this new vehicle,” said Adam Ganzman, secretary of Volunteer Heart. “It will greatly help us care for the community and better serve the citizens of Staten Island.”
The company will also be celebrating their 35th anniversary, which is this year. A 35th anniversary dinner is also being planned for October.
